Wyoming DAR Historical Markers and Monuments
Since 1890, the mission of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) has been to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. The First Report of Daughters of the American Revolution, 1890 to 1897, lists the first object of the society as follows:
“To perpetuate the memory of the spirit of the men and women who achieved American independence by the acquisition and protection of historical spots and the erection of monuments…”
That desire to honor ancestors and events that shaped our nation continues today through the placement of historical markers and memorials.
In 2010, the Wyoming State Regent, assisted by the Wyoming State Historian and Wyoming DAR Chapters, embarked on a project to document DAR historical markers located in the State of Wyoming. Click the link below to access a listing of these markers and the history behind them. We encourage you to visit them as you travel across the state!
